Ahwatukee Easter Parade

Went to the annual Ahwatukee Easter Parade today. Have I mentioned that I love Ahwatukee? Always have. Even when I didn't live here I always hoped to live here one day. (Thanks Lauren!) It's a small town in the great big city and the Easter Parade just highlights that fact.

Every year they shut down 48th St from Warner to Elliott. We make the short walk from the house and get ready for the parade. (There's the mountain Soho and I hike in the background)

We sat next to some really cute kids whose father was obsessed with my camera lens. Very strange. This is his daughter, Hayley.  She was a cutie!

 That had a DJ who had everyone doing the hokey pokey in the street. How small town is that?!

The parade was a great way to spend the morning. Great fun and I even got to meet the Phoenix mayor, Greg Stanton.

Soho had a lot of fun. Several parade participants had to come over and pet him. The Petco float gave him an Easter Basket and he got a bunch of treats from his groomer who was in the parade.

Oh yeah. Sheriff Joe was there but we don't want to see a picture of him. This guy is certainly nicer to look at.

An absolutely gorgeous day!

I cheered for the piccolos. Had to - they're under appreciated.
